The census, which began in 2012 and ended in April 2015, led to the selection and cataloguing of 138 monumental trees in the Pollino National Park.

The most represented species are the beech with 38 specimens (including the snake tree stand) and the loricate pine with 33 specimens. This is followed by the silver fir with 16 specimens, 15 oaks, 9 turkey oaks, 8 chestnut trees, 6 olive trees, 3 holm oaks, 3 maples, 2 southern ash trees, 2 alders, 1 cork, 1 hornbeam and 1 fig.The volume, published in July 2015, presents 60 monumental trees among the 138 surveyed.
